2013 Breeders’ Cup: Horse Racing Nation Staff Picks

2013 Breeders' Cup: Horse Racing Nation Staff Picks

The beautiful minds at Horse Racing Nation have made their selections for Breeders’ Cup 2013. The consensus best bet of the day is in the Mile where Wise Dan was selected by 14 people. Meanwhile, Secret Circle was the pick for the Sprint, being chosen by the surprising large number of 12 handicappers.

Good luck with your selections on Friday and Saturday!

mkstorm, if the track was indeed as biased to speed as you say, Royal Delta and Authenticity would've made mincemeat out of her. It was more than the bias today.
I normally don't like agreeing with Cubs fans, but if the Dude doesn't break well, he's toast. I'm still sticking with the Macho Man, but Gary has got to keep him close to the lead.
Sullivan, can you remind me how far back Beholder was off the lead during the entire race? Was it 1 or 2 lengthes??
Yeah, if he breaks clean. Anything like last year and it's over for him
mkstorm, can you remind me at what point in the race Beholder took the lead?
After watching Beholder's race today, Bob Baffert must have a big smile on his face about the Dude's chances tomorrow. The speed horses definitely have a huge tactical advantage on this track.
Nick Costa takes day 1
Thanks triple_double - good luck as well
Good luck to everyone at the HRN staff! I hope there are some big tickets cashed!
I really liked Laughing, but her connections have said all along that she doesn't travel well. Hoping for a big upset by Kitten's Dumplings in the F&M Turf.
@Sully - not sure that "mix" is a good thing, LOL! Whoever had the foresight to make their picks based on the STRONG SPEED BIAS... kudos to you!
RTG is not in the race
I think Mike Shutty got the Classic right. Paynter's connections tried rating him last out, and he was a very good 2nd to Mucho Macho Man. The pace in this year's Classic should be brutal with the likes of Moreno, Fort Larned, and Game On Dude in it; even Planteur. It should set up nicely for Ron The Greek, but he's unlikely to repeat his last. Palace Malice, and especially Will Take Charge should run a great race, but I have a feeling it will be Paynter's day to shine.
I seem to be a mix between Gary Quill and Mary Cage
Thanks Matt-looking forward to a victory form the Princess and A surprise victory from Will Take Charge
Awesome job Matt on putting this together. The theme of my selections appear to be "Go Big or Go Home (Broke)"
@Bryan Brinkmeyer, very good job Bryan!!! I really like your picks, more than 90% of your picks. Good luck!!!!
the fugue & wise dan good single..
I've already changed my mind on some!! LOL
