Seattle Slew, Secretariat - October 16th

Seattle Slew won the Champagne Stakes.  This was only the third start of his career, and his last start as a 2yo. ~1976
 
In the winner's circle at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, the U.S. Postal Service honored Secretariat, unveiling a 33-cent postage stamp with his image. ~1999
