Dr. Fager won his career debut by 7 lengths at Aqueduct racetrack. He was sent off at odds of 10.80-1. ~1966

 

Secretariat made his second start, and first win, in a 6 furlong MSW.  He won by 6 lengths while carrying 113 pounds. 1 win in 2 starts ~1972

 

Native Diver won his third consecutive Hollywood Gold Cup, defeating Pretense (sire of Sham) by over four lengths in a time of 1:58.5. ~1967

How often did he step outsdie the bounds of the Godlen State?
actaully ohera won the gold cup but was disquallifide for losing his rider at the gate
Three straight Hollywood Gold Cups ... it's a shame more people don't talk about Native Diver for the great that he was.
